There are certain feats that seem impossible, but as Kevin Garnett once said, “ANYTHING IS POSSIBLEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!”.
Andre the Giant was once said to have to drink a liter of vodka just to even feel tipsy. He is also responsible for numbers such as this:
- 12 bottles of wine on a bus ride in Japan
- 102 beers 45 minutes before a flight
- 40 thousand dollar bar tab after downing liquor pitchers at a pub
- 156 beers in one sitting
- Responded to last call by ordering 40 drinks.
Now this all seems ridiculous, and it is, because this is drinking brought to biblical proportions, but all these stories have been backed up by eyewitnesses, and more than once.
Andre was 7’4 over 500 pounds, and that’s not some fake WWE style billing, he really was that large. The man we are going to compare him too is not even close to this stature. Now I’m not trying to make the argument that Wade Boggs could drink more than Andre, the argument is pound for pound whether Boggs was the better beer drinker, that’s all.
The argument is pound for pound whether Boggs was the better beer drinker, that’s all
Boggs, coming in at a mere 6’2 and 197 pounds, once drank 107 beers in a day. A feat that saw the popular television show It’s Always sunny in Philadelphia make an entire episode about it. The rumor was always that it was only 64 beers on a road trip, but after the episode aired Boggs admitted that it was actually much more, that he drank 107 beers on that flight.
And it’s not that he just did it once, this is what former prominent relief pitcher Jeff Nelson had to say about it a few years ago, “It wasn’t just an isolated incident, he did it almost every time.”
“It wasn’t just an isolated incident, he did it almost every time.”
Then you have the Charlie Day interview about the ASIP episode, talk about what Boggs actually told him off set, take a look
This is just one man’s opinion, but I find the fact that a man 300 pounds smaller, and over a foot shorter, drinking 107 beers on one way flights is something of apocalyptic proportions.
So p4p, my vote goes to the HOF 3B out of Omaha, Nebraska. Of course, this is just one man’s opinion, but my opinion matters, that’s why I’m writing and you’re reading.
